Terrorists attack Katsina community, kidnap five villagers
The Katsina Police Command says five villagers have been abducted by suspected bandits in Kankara Katsina.
Superintendent Gambo Isa, spokesman of the command, in a statement said the Police upon receiving a distress call, take a swift action on the incident.
According to him: “A distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, invaded Dantsauni village, Kankara LGA of Katsina state, shot one Pastor Haruna on his hand and kidnapped five women who were preparing to go to the church for Sunday service.
‘’The kidnapped victims are Rabi Isyaku, 15, Rabi Saidu, 36, Rabi Babba, 49 ,Saratu Hadi,27, and Nusaiba Shuaibu, 13, all of Maitsauni village, Kankara LGA of Katsina State.
‘’Dpo Kankara led a team of Police men to the village but before his arrival the terrorists had already escaped with the victims.’
‘’The injured Pastor was evacuated to General Hospital, Kankara for treatment’’.
Isa who assured efforts were on with a view of arresting the hoodlums, pleaded for the support of the citizens, while also dismissed media reports that 35 church worshippers were kidnapped during Sunday church service in Katsina
