Ten kwara police command’s senior officers get new ranks

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara State Police Command, Dsp Okesanmi Kayode revealed that the acting commissioner of police of kwara state has on Tuesday, 7th January 2020 decorated ten senior police officers of the Kwara State Police Command for promotion following the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu.

The statement read in part: “Sequel to ratification by the Police Service Commission of the promotion of senior police officers on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM, mni.

“The Commissioner of Police Kwara State Command, Ag CP Kayode Egbetokun, has today decorated ten (10) Senior Police officers that benefited from the Command to their new rank as follows:

“The Area Commander, Ilorin Metro, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Iliyasu Kwarbi was promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police. Superintendents (SPs) Celestine Woru, Moses Femi Fabode, Olaseinde Sunday, Adedayo Oluwaseyi and five others were equally promoted to the ranks of Chief Superintendent of Police.

“Addressing the newly promoted officers at the Command’s conference hall of the Police Headquarters Ilorin after the decoration, the Commissioner of Police informed the officers that, the promotion is in line with IGP’s agenda of rewarding hard work and steadfastness of officers and men of the Force, for effective service delivery. He stated further that the promotions are based on merit, seniority and dedication to duty.

“He congratulated the officers and urged them to reciprocate the gesture done to them by the IGP by redoubling their efforts towards fighting crimes and criminality in the state and the nation at large.

“Responding, on behalf of the newly promoted officers DCP Iliyasu Kwarbi thanked the IGP and the Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of promotion and also promised to be diligent in the discharge of their duties and promised not to disappoint the Police Force. He thanked the Commissioner of Police Kwara State Command for his untiring effort to seeing that police men in the Command serve with fear of God and respect to rights of every citizens,” Okesanmi added.
