Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, a Nigerian singer, has won her first Grammy Award.
On Sunday, she received the award at the ongoing ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Her contribution to Future’s hit “Wait For U” featuring Drake earned her the award.
Tems was among the guests invited to the annual Roc Nation pre-Grammy Brunch on Saturday.
She dressed in a white gown, was seen conversing with Roc Nation founder Jay-Z and his wife, Beyoncé, in a viral social media video.
The pre-Grammy brunch was held at a private residence in Los Angeles’ Bel-Air neighborhood.
Meanwhile, award-winning singer Damini Ogbulu, better known as Burna Boy, was denied two nominations.
He was defeated in the categories of ‘Best Global Music Album’ and ‘Best Global Music Performance’.
