Supporters of Peter Obi, ‘Obidients cause gridlock, shut down Lekki
The supporters of the presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, have caused heavy traffic in the Lekki area of Lagos on Saturday.
The Informant247 earlier reported that the supporters of the presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi are currently staging a rally at the Lekki toll gate.
The Informant247 also observes that the police command in Lagos state had earlier warned the supporters of Obi not to stage rally at the Lekki toll gate.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, Benjamin Hundeyin, was quoted to have said: ” It has become imperative to reemphasise that no form of rally whatsoever will be allowed at the Lekki Toll gate tomorrow.
“This emphasis has become necessary to enlighten Nigerians that might be misled into converging at the toll gate.”
In defiance to the warning earlier issued by the Police, many of the supporters of the presidential candidate marched in mass numbers at the Lekki-Epe Expressway, chanting ‘Obi! Obidient!’
There was heavy security presence in the rallying area and Lekki Tollgate to ensure that the order of the court was enforced, as the court had directed that supporters of Obi should not converge on that location.
