Spanish defender close to signing for Arsenal as player lands in London for Medical

After several streaks of flailing performance in the English Premier League, the Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has been working round the clock to improve his back four with recruitment of a 26 year old Spaniard centre back, Pablo Mari who plies his trade with Flamengo in the Brasileiro Serie A.

The North London Football Club is said to be close to clinching the deal for the former Manchester City’s player who is 6.3 feet tall as he has landed in London for a medical after an undisclosed deal has been agreed by both clubs.

After seven games in charge of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta two wins only came against Manchester United in the EPL and Leeds in the FA cup round 3.

The club will be, without their leading striker goal scorer, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they prepare to take on mercurial Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in the round 4 of FA Cup tonight, Aubameyang got a red card against Crystal Palace over a deadly tackle on Max Meyer.

Gunners currently sit on 10th position with 30 points and 10 points adrift Champions League berth.
