‘Silent and detached’ — Oyabambi accuses Tijani Ismail of failing Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun constituency
A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and advocate for good governance, Otunba Adetunji Oyabambi (OAO), has accused Hon. Tijani Ismail, the member representing Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun Federal Constituency, of failing to provide effective and responsive leadership to the people.
In a strongly worded statement on Tuesday, Oyabambi expressed disappointment over what he described as “silent and detached representation”, lamenting that the constituency has witnessed little to no tangible development or active engagement from its current representative.
“Our constituency deserves leadership that listens, acts, and delivers — not silence and detachment,” Oyabambi said. “The people who entrusted Hon. Tijani Ismail with their mandate deserve empathy, courage, and proactive leadership. Leadership is a sacred responsibility, and when elected officials fail to connect with the people, they fall short of the trust placed in them.”
He noted that residents of the constituency can hardly point to meaningful interventions, constituency projects, or development efforts initiated by their representative, adding that such neglect has left constituents disillusioned and yearning for change.
“The absence of effective engagement and tangible progress has left our people yearning for leadership that listens and delivers. Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun deserve better — better leadership, better advocacy, and better results,” he said.
Oyabambi urged constituents to demand accountability and responsible representation, stressing that democracy thrives only when leaders are held to account and when performance takes precedence over politics.
“Enough of ineffective representation,” he declared. “The time has come for leadership that truly serves the people and restores confidence in our democracy.”
