Showdown in Ilorin as ABS FC, Unilorin Warriors battle for Emir Cup trophy

The battle line has been drawn between Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC and Unilorin Warriors FC for the final of the second edition of the prestigious Emir of Ilorin football championship in the main bowl of the Kwara state stadium complex on Monday.

While ABS FC picked the final ticket after defeating Araba FC 4-2 on penalties after 0-0 in the regulation time, Unilorin Warriors also booked a final ticket following a 5-3 penalty shootout win against NA Royal FC after a goalless draw.

The final promises to produce a very explosive encounter as both sides seemed equal matched in skills and determination to cart home the prestigious trophy.

The championship which was designed to mark the 29th coronation anniversary of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji, Dr. Ibrahim Zulu Gambari will attract top dignatries across the country.

According to the Chairman of the organising committee, Alhaji Owolabi Agbaji Wopa, all arrangements have been made to ensure a colorful and successful final event.

Police FC are the defending champions of the tournament. The final match is scheduled to kick off at 3pm this afternoon
