Shina Peller berates Nigeria electoral system after losing senatorial bid

Honourable Shina Peller has berated the Nigeria electoral system after losing his bid to become the Senator for the Oyo North Senatorial District.

Peller in a tweet on Monday expressed worries that the country is still far from getting it right, noting that the electronic transmission of results to manual coalition gives room for manipulation of results.

Peller, who contested under Accord Party came third in the election where Senator Fatai Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC was re-elected for third term after a landslide victory.

Buhari polled 90,078 to defeat People’s Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Akinwale Akinwole who scored 77,034 and Honorable Shina Peller who notched 54,732.
