Sexual harassment allegations: Senate panel recommends 6-month suspension for Natasha Akpoti

Senator Neda Imasuen-led Semate Senate Committee on Public Conduct, Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, on Thursday, proposed six months suspension for the Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Senator Imasuen, while presenting the panel’s report at the plenary, disclosed that Senator Natasha was guilty of all allegations against her as she failed to submit herself to the legislative committee for the review of her conduct.

Senators are currently taking turns debating the report subject to further amendments of the Committee’s recommendations and their final adoption through voice vote.

It would be recalled that the Kogi Central Senator was referred to the committee over her alleged misconduct following a face-off with the Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seating arrangement in the chamber during plenary penultimate week.

The controversy took a new twist days later when Senator Natasha accused Senator Akpabio of sexual harassment and abuse of office, among others.
