Senator Nnamani dumps PDP after defeat, describes Obi’s politics as wicked

The senator representing Enugu East in the National Assembly, Chimaroke Nnamani, has dumped the People’s Democratic Party, PDP following his defeat in the March 18 governorship election.

He criticised the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, describing him as a player of wicked and dangerous politics.

He said Obi, had “set the Igbo political trajectory 24 years back”.

The incumbent federal lawmaker was defeated by the candidate of the LP, Kelvin Chukwu.

The Informant247 recalls that the senator got suspended by the PDP following his declaration of support for the president elect, Senator Bola Tinubu in the build up to the February 25 presidential election.

The member of the upper chamber of the national assembly took the PDP, its National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and other leaders of the party to court.

In a statement released on Monday, March 20, 2023, Nnamani resigned his message from the party, saying the decision came after due consultation.

He took to his social media, Twitter, to described Obi as a player of wicked politics.

“Peter ‘Gringory’ Obi has set the Igbo political trajectory 24 years back. He has become a twin Blight & Scourge on the Land. His devious opium served to Christians within sections of Nigeria and to Igbo domiciled in different sections of Nigeria is wicked and dangerous,” he wrote.
