Senate announces commencement of recess, set July 2nd for resumption

Lawmakers in the National Assembly on Tuesday announced the commencement of their recess and will resume on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, while disclosing this on the floor of the Senate during plenary, said the recess was to enable the lawmakers to participate in the activities marking the 2024 Democracy Day as well as the Senate’s end-of-session break, having been inaugurated on June 13, 2023.
