Scores of terrorists killed in NAF airstrikes in Borno
In a significant operation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reported successful airstrikes that have resulted in the neutralization of numerous Boko Haram terrorists and the destruction of their stronghold in Borno State.
This mission was executed by operatives of Operation Hadin Kai early on Friday morning, targeting fleeing insurgents in Bita, a well-known insurgent enclave in the North-East.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, emphasized the importance of this coordinated air assault.
He stated, “The Nigerian Air Force through the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, has recorded a major operational success against Boko Haram terrorists.”
The statement detailed that the precision airstrikes targeted fleeing terrorists, resulting in what is described as one of the most decisive blows against the group in recent times.
The operation, conducted under the cover of darkness, is seen as a significant advancement in the ongoing efforts to dismantle the operational capabilities of terrorist groups threatening national security in the region.
Following the successful airstrikes, ground forces have initiated clearance and exploitation operations to build on the gains achieved.
The NAF reassured citizens, stating, “All necessary measures are being taken to ensure that terrorist elements have no safe haven anywhere within the country,” reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and protecting law-abiding citizens.
