Saraki, AGF: Let’s play it like politics

It’s worthy of note, in any democratic settings where majority give power, that when the electioneering atmosphere is on, politics is played alongside the good, dirty and rough side of it, and when it’s time for governance, the victorious man goes to working table to fulfil campaign promises. What a wonderful trick! But despite, the two working together, one must not freak-out the other, both must work dependently. Therefore, politics must not be minced with governance in whatever way for any smart politician to succeed.

In Nigeria today, It’s so most disheartening that mockery of democracy, lack of respect for the rule of law, clampdown on human rights activist, journalist and politics of bitterness are on the increase, yet we are not worried!

However, coming to Kwara, action and inaction of politicians have over the last few days threatened the peaceful atmosphere of the state, while the elders watch the drama unfolds, the danger posed by these threats continue to gather strength and ready to explode like a timed bomb.

Two legends lived! The Second Republic, Senate Leader, Dr. Olusola Saraki and first Legal Practitioner in the whole of North Central region, AGF Razaq’s name, impacts and history are not what can be written off the national archive.

However, the same legacies of these great men that should be an Hallmark of peace in their countryhome are now set as machineries to settle political scores. Governance is to make a nation great, rescue masses from penury, create employment opportunity, good health, sound educational system, secure lives, property of citizen and not to fight dirty a battle of decades.

The recent revocation order by the State governor, Mallam AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman on the late Saraki’s political house, “Ile Arúgbó” might be a step taken too far for a government that needs nobdistraction to perform excedingly well, as expected of the masses who gave the power.

Mayhaps, the present administration might not have made such calculated attempt to discredit the image of Saraki’s family, but every word of the revocation order and the Saraki’s responce show a great personal intrigues between the duo!

However, it’s within the right of Gov AbdulRazaq as the duly elected governor of the state to oversee the affairs and revoke any property of Kwara state that has wrongfully been in possession of anybody without considering the social class or profile but not at the expense of his distraction or costing the state it peace.

It’s hightime AbdulRazaq and Saraki played this politics like a PRO with mature mind. Let the aged-long feud between the two families die of neglect and let what belong to the Sarakis be theirs, the AbdulRazaqs be theirs, and the state be ours!
