Sanwo-Olu emerges S’West Governors’ forum chair to replace former Ondo gov Akeredolu
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor, was on Monday elected as the new chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum to replace Rotimi Akeredolu, the former Governor of Ondo State, who died in December 2023, and was buried in February 2024.
The Informant247 gathered that Sanwo-Olu was elected by his fellow governors from the region during the meeting held at the Lagos House, Ikeja, on Monday.
It would be recalled that the south-west governors on Monday afternoon held a close-door meeting, which started around 12 noon.
In attendance at the meeting are Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun) and Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti).
