Clarifies between legislative, executive roles

Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate in 2023 general elections, has made a promise to harness economic potentials in various communities across the senatorial district, if he emerges.

The Turaki of Ilorin made this revelation on Sunday while addressing community leaders/stakeholders from Gambari in Ilorin East local government.

The Senatorial Candidate of the ruling APC while reacting to request to resuscitate the Dam in Gambari, reaffirmed that he will make use of legislative power the people give him to explore economic potentials of the people of the state and natural resources in Kwara Central for wealth creation, fight against unemployment and for the boost of the state’s economy.

The senatorial candidate revealed that even though the role of legislature is different from the executive, he would try his best to add value to various communities using legislation.

He said being a senator does not stop him from proceeding with his philanthropic endeavor which he considers an act of charity from his foundation (Saliu Mustapha Foundation).

Mustapha said: “I am a good listener and not a talkative. I listen to feel the heart of the people. This stakeholders engagement will continue even after my victory in 2023 general elections by God’s grace.

“I will facilitate developmental projects to our Senatorial district and lobby other colleagues in Senate to spread dividends of democracy to four local government areas in Kwara Central. Although, the role of lawmaker is different from executive but I will continue my charity works.”

The Turaki of Ilorin who made use of English, Yoruba and Hausa languages while expressing himself implored the people of Kwara Central Senatorial district to vote and support him to achieve sound, quality and effective representation.

Eminent personalities from Gambari community who included Prof Lanre, Justice Abdullahi Idris Haroon, Prof Ologele Assayouty, Prof Aisha Gobir, Kwara NBA Secretary, Barr Taofiq Olateju, SA Strategy to Kwara Governor, Alhaji Saadudeen Salaudeen, and others showered Mustapha encomiums and testimonials for his meaningful impacts made so far.

Barr Olateju who’s the Secretary Kwara Chapter, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), revealed how the senatorial candidate lent assisting hand to the health challenge of Barr Abdullahi Alhiknla which required the need to take him outside the country.
