Today 12th August, 2018 commemorates the INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY celebrated across the world with the theme ” Safe Space For Youths “.
It is noteworthy that in Africa where the youths are in the majority by demographic precision have always been hindered from occupying leadership frontiers in sociopolitical and economic spheres. The bottlenecks of cabal influences, intimidation, intentional distraction from purpose, divide and rule tactics, unstable educational system and monetary inducement also encouraged by youths docility, disunity, low self esteem and indifference towards policies and decisions affecting our sociopolitical and economic space are factors militating against our generation in Africa.
We as youths should thus arise from the cocoon of armchair criticism and cold complicity to give Africa a new direction of leadership and economic navigation.
Power is not freely given and so the Space occupied presently by our sit tight leaders will not be willingly relinquished to us rather we should create for ourselves spaces that will obsolete the status quo and become exemplary model for our contemporary societies.
Our strength, ideas, population end strong will should be harnessed in unity towards Africa’s developmental objectives as the onus lies on us as generational leaders to Create The Space we yearn for.
Africa of our Dream is realistic through our genuine and collective efforts.
