Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu to head Kwara Education Ministry
The governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Wednesday assigned the former Tertiary Education commissioner, Hajia Saadatu Modibbo Kawu, to head the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.
She disclosed this in a statement posted on her official Facebook page.
The statement read, “I thank Almighty Allah for the opportunity to be alive. I want to thank the people’s governor, HE AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his confidence in me. I have always loved to work with kids alongside human capital development.
“I pray for Allah’s grace and wisdom to serve diligently and effectively in this new assignment.
“This assignment needs your support and prayers just like you’ve always done for this administration.”
Kawu is one of the eight nominees whose names were sent by the governor to the state House of Assembly on March 23 for confirmation as commissioners.
While others were confirmed barely 3 days after, Kawu’s confirmation was suspended as she was said to be in Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj as at the time of the screening.
In May, the governor sent the names of five additional nominees to the house for confirmation, Kawu joined the new batch for screening and confirmation at the state Assembly.
The governor, however, didn’t assign her to any ministry for close to two months.
