The Kwara State Chapter of the Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), on Thursday, appealed to the Kwara State Government to ensure the release of the kidnapped member of the Association and other identified farmworkers.

A Statement signed by the chapter’s Chairman,  Dr. Saka Jimoh Shittu also pleaded with the government to beef up the security architecture around livestock production estates to forestall future occurrences stating that the state is now becoming targets of criminal elements.

Recall that The Informant247 reported that a farm manager who is also a member of NVMA and two farm workers were abducted by gunmen in army uniform at their commercial poultry farms at Pampo community in Asa local government area of Kwara state.

It was also reported that the kidnappers, who were six in number were armed with AK47 rifles during the attack had already contacted the victims’ families, demanding the sum of N45million for the three people.
