Christiano Ronaldo has revealed the reason why he prefers the move to Saudi Arabian club, Al Nasr against European teams.
The 37-year-old striker joined Al Nasr on Friday, after putting pen to paper on lucrative two-and-a-half year deal where he would earn an eye-watering £173million per year.
The move has been described as the highest deal ever in the history of football.
Speaking on the development, Ronaldo said the move to the Middle east was informed by his desire to experience the continent of Asia.
“I am fortunate that I have won everything I set out to win in European football,” the five-time Ballon d’Or explained upon his announcement. “I feel now that this is the right moment to share my experience in Asia.”
He added “Al-Nassr’s vision is very inspiring and impressive. I look forward to a different league experience in a different country. I am excited to join my team-mates as soon as possible”.
The Portuguese had a glittering career in Europe by winning all the major trophies spanning a period of 21-years.
