Rivers Police arrest officers over extortion
Following a complaint by a young alleging that he was extorted by police officers, the Rivers State Police Command has arrested and detained two police officers attached to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
It was gathered that the man had complained on Twitter while tagging the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Adejobi Olumuyiwa, who in turn tweeted and queried the Rivers State Police Command about why people in the state are still complaining about extortion and harassment, despite the warnings of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.
Meanwhile, in his response to the tweet, Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the arrest of the police officers.
