Revenge as Nigeria thrash Tunisia 4-0 to clinch AFCON U-20 bronze medal

FIFA World Cup-bound Nigeria eased to a four-goal victory over Tunisia’s Young Carthage Eagles on Friday to claim the bronze medals at the 17th Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Goals from Ibrahim Mohammed, Belgium-based forward Ahmed Abdullahi, a and a brace from Jude Sunday was all the Nigerian team needed to saw off the Tunisians in the third place match played on Friday.

The victory earned Nigeria the bronze medals for a record-extending fourth time at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations.

Flying Eagles will also be one of the 24 teams in the pot on 31st March when FIFA conducts the draw for the FIFA U20 World Cup taking place in Indonesia 20th May – 11th June.

It was also a victory secured as a revenge for the 1-0 loss of the Super Eagles of Nigeria to Tunisia at the round of 16 of the last AFCON in Cameroon.
