REVEALED: Manchester United sent scouts to watch Osimhen

Manchester United are stepping up their interest in Nigeria international Victor Osimhen after another scouting trip to Italy last week.

The Reds devils representatives were in Naples on Wednesday for the Napoli quarter-final against AC Milan

Although the hosts went down 2-1 on aggregate, Osimhen was on target in the second leg, which ended 1-1. That made it 26 goals in 31 games this season.

Napoli are yet to open talks on a new deal with their Striker who has two years left on the contract signed in September 2020 on his £70million arrival from Lille.

There is a suggestion that delay is down to United’s continued pursuit – with the Italians not against the idea of cashing in now.

Meanwhile, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has slapped a €150million (£132.6m) price tag on Victor Osimhen, according to La Gazetta dello sport.

It is safe to say that the fact that Erik ten Hag and staff are still monitoring Osimhen’s form so closely indicates they view him as an alternative to their top target Harry Kane this summer.

PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are other top Europeans club looking to sign the 24-year-old striker.
