REVEALED: Chelsea paid former directors £49.75m after takeover bid

Chelsea’s latest accounts show that a total amount of £49.75m was paid to the club’s former directors, including Marina Granovsakaia and Bruce Buck.

Roman Abramovich after 19-year spell as owner sold the club to a consortium led by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali in May 2022.

The first set of accounts published since the takeover show nearly £50m was paid to the former directors for “services related to the sale” of the club, with £35m going to Granovskaiac.

Boehly and his co-owner has invested over £200 million pounds to bring in players to the club since they took over.

While their current position on the table isn’t commensurable to their investment, the new owners have sacked two managers,Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter since their arrival at the Stamford bridge.

Last week, the club appointed Frank Lampard to takeover the reigns as a caretaker Manager until the end of the season
