The House of Representatives is prepared to meet with the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) and other education stakeholders to find lasting solution to the lingering strike embarked by the union.
This was revealed via a statement issued by Mr Yahaya Danzaria, the Clerk of the House of Representatives on Monday in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
He stated that the meeting would be done on Tuesday at the the House of Reps wing of the National Assembly.
He said that the fact that agreement has not been reached with the striking university lecturers has been a major concern for the House.
He added that the House has been dissatisfied and worried about the negative consequences of the industrial action on the future and quality of education of the teeming youths.
“In the light of the foregoing, the House hereby request for another opportunity to come together with stakeholders and leadership of ASUU to seek an amicable resolution,” he said.
