Reps call for ban on police officers from consuming alcohol, other hard substances
The House of Representatives on Wednesday said it was necessary to place ban on police officers from drinking alcohol.
The lower chamber of the Nigerian legislature has said that uniform men should be stopped from consuming other hard substances which can affect their sense of reasoning.
This came following the adoption of a motion of urgent public significance which was moved by Babajide Obanikoro.
The Green Chamber said the investigation into the killing of a female Lagos lawyer, Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem by a police officer, last Sunday, was necessary.
The federal lawmakers have called for justice for the 2 victims.
