Report: Kwara governor’s office gulps N1.27bn in 3 months

•N766 million expended on Government House

Kwara State recorded a total inflow of N22.339 billion revenue in the first quarter of 2020, as released by the state Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

In the report obtained by THE INFORMANT247, a total sum of N11.785bn was received from FAAC, representing the fund from Statutory Allocation, Value Added Tax(VAT), Excess Crude, Exchange Gain, Other Sundry Revenue and other Mineral Revenue.

Consequently, it was also stated that the sum of N7.395bn was realized for IGR, N0.048Bn for LGAs loan repayment while N1.932Bn was recorded for grants and N1.222Bn represent external loan.

However, the state government gave the total inflow in its report as N24.385bn instead of N22.339bn.

The government spend a total of N19.430bn within January, February and March, of which the Personnel Cost accounts for N3.446bn, Overhead Cost took N7.683bn, while Pension, Debt Repayment and Capital Expenditure account for N2.213bn, N1.834bn, N4.009bn respectively.

Under the sub-head, the governor’s office took N1,275,659,360, Kwara Assembly and the Government House recorded N372,094,051 and N766,402,777 respectively of the spending.

Meanwhile, the KWIRS generates N7.395Bn in the first Quarter, 2020, unable to meet the target of N2.6Bn on monthly average.

On February 29th, 2020, the state commissioner for Finance and Planning, Oyeyemi Olasumbo Florence, stated that N2,368,021,322.69 was spent on Salary, Pension and Gratuity including public officers.

Findings, though, revealed that the sum of N1,886,333,333.33 was spent on Salaries, Pension and Gratuity including the Public Officers on monthly average in the first quarter 2020.

Also, the Kwara State School of Aviation recorded a deficit of N14.8milliom in the First Quarter, 2020.
