Remi Tinubu commends youngest female lawmaker Rukayat Shittu, awards scholarships
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, met with the youngest female legislator and Kwara State House of Assembly member, Honorable Rukayat Shittu.
The occasion was the presentation of scholarships under the Renewed Hope Initiative, which took place over the weekend at the presidential villa banquet hall in Abuja.
The gathering provided a platform for Senator Oluremi Tinubu to commend and engage with Honorable Rukayat Shittu, who represents the Owode Onire state constituency.
The meeting highlighted the First Lady’s dedication to education and empowerment, as demonstrated by the scholarship award program aimed at benefiting female students pursuing tertiary education.
During the ceremony, Honorable Rukayat Shittu had the honor of representing the First Lady of Kwara State, Ambassador Olufolake AbdulRazaq.
The event saw the presentation of educational scholarship grants to 43 young individuals from across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Among the recipients, Ayodele Khadijat Damilola from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, was proudly selected as a beneficiary.
It’s noteworthy that Ayodele Khadijat Damilola was nominated by the Ajike Peoples Support Centre of the Kwara State First Lady, Ambassador Mrs. Olufolake AbdulRazaq.
The National Scholarship Programme on Tertiary Education (NAPS), an initiative under the Renewed Hope Initiative by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, played a crucial role in realizing these educational opportunities.
During their interaction, Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed her pleasure at meeting the dynamic politician, Rukayat Shittu, highlighting that their communication had primarily taken place over the phone.
The First Lady’s admiration for Honorable Rukayat Shittu was evident as she requested a special photograph to commemorate the occasion.
Offering words of wisdom and encouragement, Senator Oluremi Tinubu advised Honorable Rukayat to maintain her focus and diligence in her legislative responsibilities.
