Refrain from protest, Yinka Aluko begs constituents
The lawmaker representing Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Yinka Aluko, PhD, has urged his constituents to refrain from participating in the national protest scheduled for August 1st to August 10th.
In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, Aluko acknowledged the country’s current challenges but asked the people to understand the necessity of the policies being implemented.
He emphasized that these measures are aimed at repositioning the country’s social and economic services for sustainable development.
Aluko expressed his solidarity with the constituents during these difficult times and assured them of his continued credible representation.
Aluko also emphasized that protesting is a fundamental human right, but he appealed to his constituents to prioritize peace and harmony, especially as the country is still healing from the scars of the EndSARS protest.
He thereby encouraged everyone to remain committed to a better future for the constituency and the nation.
