Rashford backed to score more goals after demolishing Everton

Marcus Rashford’s influential performance and his impressive run of form saw him set up two and score the third goal in United FA Cup over Everton.

Rashford set up the opener by forcing Conor Coady into an own goal, provided assist for Anthony’s goal and then netted a penalty to secure the victory for United to secure a spot in the fourth round of the competition.

Speaking after the match on Friday, Erik Ten Hag who noted Rashford as a ‘tactical weapon’ lauded him for his performance and urged the England international to do more.

Rashford’s impressive run has seen him score a goal each in his last five games.

“It is himself [the reason why he is flourishing this season]. He has the skills, I am supporting him, I am motivating him, that is clear. I think I put him in the right position on the pitch, but to be fair he can play across the whole front line and in some cases behind.

“We can use him also as a tactical weapon, and he is scoring from every position. If he keeps this focus, I am convinced he will score even more goals. If he keeps investing in training, investing in the games, I’m sure – I’m convinced – he can keep the goals coming in this run.” he said.

The Red Devils will be hoping for a straight victory when they take on Charlton in the Carabao Cup on January 10 before the Manchester derby on 14 of the same month
