Qatar 2022: Buhari congratulates Morocco for making Africa proud
President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his congratulatory message to Atlas Lions of Morocco and the ruler of the country, King Mohammed the VI for making history of first African country to ever qualify for the World Cup semi finals at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
This is contained in a statement issued by his senior special assistant on media and publicity Garba Shehu.
President Buhari commends the team for their skill and teamwork, while attributing the achievement to an exemplary role of the Moroccan authorities in putting together a formidable team.
Buhari says Morocco has made the entire continent proud with their outstanding performance, giving hope that an African team can indeed win, and should win the ongoing global championship in Qatar.
