Protest: President Tinubu holds security meeting with service chiefs
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday hosted a Security Council meeting at the Presidential Villa.
The meeting is reportedly coming at the instance of the ongoing nationwide protest tagged #End bad governance.
The President is expected to be briefed on the security situation in the country by the service chiefs in the meeting.
The meeting which started at 2:00 pm has in attendance the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser to the President, all Service Chiefs, the Inspector General of Police, the Comptroller Generals of Custom and Immigration, as well as the Chief of Staff to the President.
The meeting is being seen as the reason for the postponement of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting which was set for Monday.
Punch reported that the FEC meeting earlier scheduled to hold at the Presidential Villa was postponed.
No reason was given for the postponement of the customary FEC meeting as some Ministers were reportedly already on ground for the meeting- unknown to them that it has been postponed
President Bola Tinubu in a national broadcast on Sunday addressed the nation over the the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests.
Tinubu called for dialogue with the protesters, noting that he heard their call ‘loud and clear’.
