Kwara decries low turnout at health facilities, commences statewide advocacy

Property worth N25m destroyed in Kwara community over land dispute

Fresh crisis erupted in the ancient town of Ipe, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State over alleged land dispute between the community and Ojomu family in Offa, Offa Local government area of the state.

Ipe was said to have been claiming ownership over the said land in dispute for years thereby extending development on it.

Ojomu family of Offa, on the other hand, reportedly claimed that the land belonged to their forefathers.

The bulldozer machine belonging to Engr. Orimadegun Agboworin which was hired to work on the land in dispute was allegedly set ablaze by members of Ipe community.

Speaking in a telephone conversation with the Engr. Agboworin, he lamented that the machine he bought 25million recently has been set ablaze.

“The machine was hired from me to work the site, it wasn’t the machine that was in contention but the land, so why setting fire on it, that is very unfair. Ife people burnt the machine.

“I appeal to the good people of Kwara to please help me, the money invested on the machine has not been realised not to make gains on it.”

Meanwhile, efforts to get reaction of Onipe of Ipe, on the issue proved abortive as several calls made to his phone line were not picked while the message sent to the same line was not acknowledged.
