The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Mrs Olaitan Abosede Buraimoh has commended the initiator of the Most Beautiful Girl in Kwara State, for positively engaging youths to showcase the beauty and rich culture of the State of Harmony.
Buraimoh made the commendation in Ilorin when the contestants paid her a courtesy visit at the conference room of the Ministry, adding that through such pageantry youths could get endorsements that would empower them for economic growth.
“Her Excellency, the Wife of the Governor of Kwara State, Ambassador, Dr. Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq, values our cultural heritage; therefore, she’s committed to supporting the event of this nature that can showcase our rich culture to the outside world,” she said.
The Commissioner also pledged the support of the Ministry, where necessary, to the organizers the event, to make it a huge success.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajia Rabiat Mopelola AbdulRahaman, in her remarks, urged the contestants to put in their best to excel at the competition.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Most Beautiful Girl in Kwara State, Mr Saheed Alabi told the Commissioner that the motive behind the beauty pageantry is to promote the cultural heritage of Kwara State as the contestants cut across the 16 Local Government Areas of the State.
He solicited government’s support through the Ministry, disclosing that the star prize for the winner is a car, endorsement deal and a trip abroad.
