Project 10 million: Kwarans commended for compliance

The Kwara State Government has commended the residents of the state for compliance following the successful implementation of Project 10 Million across the 16 LGAs.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam, while giving the commendation in Ilorin on Wednesday, in a phone conversation with the press crew of the ministry, disclosed that the project is aimed at screening 10 million Nigerians, including 196,913 people from Kwara State, for hypertension and blood sugar levels.

According to her, “The exercise, which commenced from October 28 to November 4, 2024, recorded significant successes due to the cooperation of stakeholders, including health workers, ad-hoc staff, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Christian Association of Nigeria, the Muslim Society, Market Leaders, Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, Media practitioners and other partners.”

While highlighting the success recorded during the exercise, El-Imam noted that Kwara State was able to screen 97, 854 people across the State, thereby emerging as one of the leading states to have implemented the project among the 36 States of the federation, including FCT, describing it as a notable achievement and another score card for the present administration, in the state.

She expressed her profound gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support, which has helped Kwara to become the top-performing state in the project.
