President Buhari, Saraki, Bolaji, Gobir mourn Governor’s father

Different political figures both former and incumbent office holders across the federation, including President Muhammadu Buhari, Minister of State for Transportation, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki, Former Minister for Youth and Sport, Bolaji Abdullahi and APC chieftain in Kwara State, Waziri Yakubu Gobir have mourn Alh. Abdulganiyu Folorunsho Abdulrazaq SAN in their various condolence messages, describing his death as a national loss

AGF Razaq who was Northern Nigeria’s first lawyer and father of incumbent Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, passes on at the age of 93 in Abuja on Saturday.

President Muhammadu Buhari in a tribute to the late First Rupblic Minister, Parliamentarian, Pioneer Commissioner of Finance, Kwara State and until his passing, Matawali of Ilorin and Tidahn Zazzau (Zaria), he said he was highly saddened by news of the demise of the statesman and outstanding parliamentarian of his time.

According to President Buhari, “We will remember him as one of this country’s greatest legal minds and a national leader. He garnered respect that transcended our barriers visible and otherwise. His enormous contribution to the welfare of the people of his community, Kwara State and the country as a whole will serve to inspire future generations of our citizens.

“Whenever our Nation loses an elder in the class of Alhaji AbdulRazaq, it should serve as a moment of reflection on how the lives they lived and their sacrifices built the foundation of what we must continue to strengthen.

Also, the Hon. Minister of State for Transportation, Gbemisola Saraki in a statement described the exist of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria as a great loss to the people of Kwara and the entire country.

While praying for the repose of the soul of the late Mutawali of Ilorin, the Honourable Minister of State prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al Jannah Firdaus, whilst granting the family, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Ilorin Emirate and the people of Kwara state the fortitude to bear the loss.

On the part of Former Minister for Youth and Sport, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, he urged the AbdulRazaq family and the entire lovers of the deceased to take solace in the fact that the departed scion lived an exemplary life of service and outstanding achievements. He lived as a pace setter, in the legal practice, community development, politics, and leadership.

“I offer my heartfelt sympathies to the family, the entire Ilorin Emirates and associates of the deceased on the sad loss of Alhaji Folorunsho Abdulrazaq (SAN), an exemplary statesman. I share your pain and ask Allah to comfort you in the difficult days ahead. May Allah elevates the Mutawali to the rank of the favoured in Aljanah and forgive his earthly transgressions”, said ex-minister Abdullah in his statement.

Gobir in his condolence message also the late Mutawali of Ilorin and the Tafida of Zazzau, as an accomplished lawyer and a humble elder statesman who played a vital role in Nigeria’s judiciary and national development.

He said, Alh. AGF Abdulrazaq was one of the icons of the Ilorin Emirate whose wise counsel will be greatly missed.

He prayed to Allah SWT to forgive his sins and grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
