Presidency: Tinubu running Nigeria’s affair from France, to be back after Easter
The Presidency has reassured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu remains fully in charge of the country’s affairs despite his current stay in Europe, with plans to return after the Easter holidays.
In a statement released on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, it was clarified that the President’s absence is temporary and aligns with the previously communicated timeframe of approximately two weeks.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains fully engaged in Nigeria’s governance even though he is away in Europe,” the statement highlighted. It confirmed that his return to Abuja and resumption of duties at Aso Villa would happen after the Easter holiday.
The Presidency informed that Tinubu traveled from Paris to London over the weekend, maintaining constant communication with top government officials in Nigeria. He continues to issue directives on crucial national matters, including recent security developments across the country.
The statement emphasized the President’s unwavering commitment to duty and reassured that there has been no disruption in the administration’s activities during his absence.
“We appreciate the public’s concern and assure all Nigerians that governance proceeds without interruption,” Onanuga stated.
