Pregnant woman found dead at herbalist’s doorstep in Ilorin

The Kwara State police command has apprehended two suspects, Okandeji and his son over an untimely death of a pregnant woman in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The remains of the pregnant woman was allegedly discovered at about 10pm on Saturday at Asileke compound, off Adangba-Omoda road in the state capital.

The Informant247 learnt that residents of the area hinted the police, amid the discovery of the corpse allegedly dumped at the frontage of an herbalist’s house in the area.

The police quickly arrested the suspects and collected the corpse at about 11pm on Saturday.

The Informant247 gathered that the police traced the footsteps of the deceased woman to the doorstep of the herbalist’s house.

A reliable source recounted that the dead pregnant woman had revealed that she was going debt recovery exercise in the area before suffering a mishap.

Affirming the incident, Kwara state police command spokesperson, SP Ajayi Okasanmi noted: “The state Commissioner of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the case transferred to the state CID police headquarters for discreet investigation.”

He confirmed “the arrest of a suspect and explained that the corpse has been deposited at the University of Ilorin teaching hospital mortuary for autopsy.”
