The Police in Kwara State have released the comedians arrested on Wednesday, for shooting comic skits dressing in spiritualist outfits at the entrance of the State Government House, along Ahmadu Bello way in Ilorin, the state capital city.
THE INFORMANT247 gathered that the actor, Abdullahi Paranti with stage name ‘Comrade Funny’ and his accomplices, earlier billed to be paraded and charged to court today (Thursday) were pardoned by the State Government after pleas from several quarters.
The governor, who was said to be angry at social media propaganda on the incident, was pacified by several aides and students’ bodies in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the release of the comedians.
Also, a member of Paranti entertainment group, Olushola A., said the comedians were released around 12:21pm on Thursday.
THE INFORMANT247 had reported that Paranti dressed in native white robe with red beads on his neck was arrested on Wednesday afternoon together with his accomplice by security details attached to the Government House who were surprised by the unusual sight.
