Police react to mysterious deaths in Kogi

The Police Command in Kogi State has confirmed the mysterious death in Nagazi, under the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The Informant247 observes that on Monday evening that nine people lost their lives mysteriously in Adavi Local Government.

The spokesperson of the police in the state, William Ovye Aya, while confirming the incident on Tuesday, said seven members of the family lost their lives, but the kae enforcement agency has not ascertain the circumstance behind their death.

He revealed that one person died instantly, while others were hospitalized at the Obangede general hospital before two eventually gave up the ghost.

The mouthpiece of the police in the state, however, said the Police are carrying on investigation on the cause of the death.

He added that the deceased victims have been moved to the morgue of Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lokoja.

A source within the family on Tuesday told newsmen that spiritual attack may the cause of the mysterious deaths.

A source within the family, who spoke to the press as an anonymous, said that the father of the deceased victims is a popular herbalist in the area.

“The father is a strong herbalist known in the area. From what we gathered, he was doing incantation before things backfired. What happened has nothing to do with food poisoning. It is spiritual,” the family source said.

The Informant247 gathered that mysterious deaths have occurred in the Kogi Central Senatorial district, before now.
