Police move to rescue abducted UNIABUJA lecturers, others
Following the invasion of the staff quarters of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) by gunmen which led to the abduction of four staff of the University of Abuja and their children early Tuesday, the Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), says it has swung into action to rescue the victims.
According to the Police Commissioner in charge of the command Babaji Sunday, additional tactical and conventional policing resources have been dispatched to the main and satellite campuses of the university for the safety of the residents.
In a statement signed by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Josephine Adeh, the commissioner advised residents to be calm, promising that the security forces had been working, assiduously, with the locals in the area toward rescuing the victims.
The Commissioner assured the residents that the perpetrators would be arrested and brought to book.
