A Police Inspector identified as Maxwell Zabu, who was previously attached to Victor Ihunwo, the former Chairman of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, has reportedly taken his own life in the early hours of Tuesday at Eagle Island, the residence of Ihunwo.

Details surrounding the circumstances of his death remain unclear, but preliminary reports suggest he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident was initially reported at the Eagle Island Police Post, under the jurisdiction of the Azikiwe Police Division in Illabouchi, Mile 2, Diobu.

According to sources, detectives from the Azikiwe Division quickly arrived at the scene to commence preliminary investigations. Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed that the case is being treated as a suspected suicide, although all possibilities have not been ruled out.
