Police in Ogun parades 15 suspects over alleged kidnapping, robbery, other crimes

The Ogun State Police Command on Monday paraded no fewer than 15 suspected criminals for kidnapping, murder, armed robbery, and other crimes, reports.

While parading the suspects at the police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun, Lanre Bankole, disclosed that the suspects were arrested at different locations with the painstaking efforts of the police.

He added that his men arrested 15 suspects with different weapons in the month of March, saying that among those paraded was one local hunter, Saheed Ogundahun, who allegedly killed a Fulani herdsman in Ewekoro and buried his body in the bush.

Bankole stressed that his men also paraded two suspected Kidnappers, Sulaimon Mohammed and Jato Bello for a series of kidnapping within Abeokuta.

According to him, the duo was accused of kidnapping one Ajibola Salimot on February 17 at her house along Rounder, Abeokuta and they were also responsible for the abduction and two siblings, Esther Kehinde and David Kehinde in Ayetoro.

In a related development, a group of suspected armed robbers – Moruf Abiodun, Fisayo Aliu, Usman Adeyemi, Daud Lekan, and Afeez Adesina were paraded by the police boss for allegedly snatching a Toyota Corolla car in Iperu area of Ogun State.

The CP also presented to the media two self-acclaimed church founders, who were arrested for ‘killing’ a church member in Ogun.

He explained that the co-founders of Christian Fellowship Group, Life Builders Network, Chidi Samuel and Paul Zakari, were arrested by the Ogun State police command for allegedly killing one Favour Okumazor in Oyan village, Imala, Abeokuta North.

The suspect, according to Bankole, would be prosecuted as soon as investigations are completed.
