Police arrest horse rider for crushing 20-yr-old man to death in Kano

The Kano State police have apprehended Aminu Kabiru, 18 for allegedly crushing a man with his horse.

The spokesperson of the police command in the state, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, made the confirmation of the incident to newsmen in a statement.

Kiyawa revealed that the incident occurred on Sunday at about 6:30 pm in Gadon-Kaya Quarters while the victim was going to his house from the market.

The mouthpiece of the police command added that the victim was identified as Abdulhadi Sammani, 20 from Sani-Mainagge.

Kiyawa revealed that upon receiving intelligence report, police officers were mobilized to the affected scene and hospitalized the victim to Murtala Muhammad Hospital for medical care.

He said the victim later gave up the ghost while receiving attention.

He also said that the suspect will be dragged to court.

The Informant247 observed that the Kano Emirate Council had earlier placed a ban on the unofficial riding of horse known as Kilisa without official approval of the authorities.

Many persons have lost their lives and others sustained various degrees of injuries due to the nonchalant attitude of the horse riders in the Kano metropolis and its environs.
