Police arrest 70-yr-old man for raping 4-yr-old girl in Nasarawa
Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a 75-year-old man, one Isa Nana Okpoku over alleged rape of a 4-year-old niece.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday following a complaint forwarded to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Obi, Saturday morning.
The spokesperson of the police command, DSP Ramham Nansel, while confirming the incident in a statement, said septuagenarian was able to carry out the suspected crime because his niece lived in the same house.
He also narrated that the old man lured the small girl into his room and raped her.
The spokesperson stated that the victim was quickly hospitalized for medical assessment, and the hymen of the victim was confirmed broken by a medical expert.
He said the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Maiyaki Mohammed Baba has directed the police command to conduct an intensive investigation into the criminal act.
He added that the suspect will be dragged to court after necessary investigation has been completed.
