Police arrest 2 suspects for buying car belonging to murdered Ogun couple, Mr and Mrs Fatinoye

The Ogun State Police have arrested 2 suspects who purchased the car belonging to the couple, Mr and Mrs Fatinoye, who were killed by suspected arsonist on New Year’s day.

Lekan Adekanbi, the driver of the deceased couple had earlier confessed to killing the couple and their only son, Oreoluwa, because they refused to increase his salary and grant him loan.

He said he masterminded their killing with the collaboration of 2 other persons.

He confessed that they trailed their victims from their church where are they had gone for cross over service.

He also revealed that they set their dead bodies on fire after carrying out their criminal act.

The spokesperson of Ogun State Police command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, revealed in Abeokuta, the capital of the state on Tuesday that the 2 additional suspects who purchased the couple’s car were apprehended on Monday.

He said the police was ready to arrest all parties to the crime to book.

He gave the names of the 2 additional suspects, as Azeez Usman and Owolaja Aanuoluwapo.

He said they were arrested at different places in Ogun using information the police got from the earlier arrested suspects.

He said the earlier apprehended suspects had informed the police that one Azeez Usman bought the car at the sum of N150,000.

“After killing the couple, the suspects got hold of their son Oreoluwa and their adopted child, Felix Olorunyomi, tied them and put them in the booth of the Hyundai car.

“They drove them to Ogun River Bridge at Adigbe area in Abeokuta, where they threw them into the river.

“The suspects later parked the car somewhere in Oke Ata area also in Abeokuta and later contacted Owolaja AanuOluwapo who went there and drove the vehicle to Usman’s workshop.

“It was at the workshop that the car was cannibalised and sold as spare parts.

“Police investigation showed that the two additional suspects were duly informed that the car was stolen; but they went ahead and bought it for N150,000,’’ Oyeyemi stated.

The police paraded the first 3 suspects before journalists on Friday.
