Planning commissioner charges management on tripod roles for economic boost
Dr. Mary Ronke Arinde, the newly deployed Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, has urged the management and staff of the Ministry to focus on Tripod Roles – Industrialization, Food Security, and Internally Generated Revenue to further maintain the viable economic momentum and open ways for robust socio-economic development of the State.
Dr. Arinde made this known while assuming her new role as the new commissioner deployed from the Tertiary Education Ministry.
The Commissioner, while chatting with the ministry’s management, said all hands must be on deck to ensure its primary objectives in accordance with the policy trust of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration.
Dr. Arinde equally sought the management’s maximum support while encouraging them to work in a team and love carrying out their daily statutory responsibilities to achieve maximum success, which is the foremost priority of the state government.
“I am delighted to be in your midst. Before taking up a political role as a retired civil servant, I knew that transfer is always a way in the civil service. I am readily prepared to take up the new challenge here with a committed desire to improve on the already achieved success”, the Commissioner remarked.
“I, however, want to seek your maximum cooperation to help drive home the mandate for which this Ministry is saddled while I still implore everyone to work together as a family, in one mind, to achieve our target goals,” she added.
While speaking on the core mandate of the Ministry, Dr. Arinde stated that all the Directorates should not fettered in mapping out strategies that would enhance the economic landscape, focusing on sustainable goals, promoting investments, innovation, and infrastructural development geared towards reshaping the economic status of the State for good, thereby placing Kwara on the top chat of economic advancement amongst other States of the Federation.
In his welcome address, the Director of Personnel, Finance, and Supply of the Ministry, Alhaji Qudus Sambo Olanrewaju, assured the Commissioner of smooth and unalloyed cooperation from all members of staff while praying for her to succeed and excel in her roles in the Ministry.
In their joint contributions, the Director of planning of the Ministry, Alhaji Surajudeen Kayode Alimi, and the Director of budget, Alhaji Samsudeen Aregbe, said the Ministry has always maintained a syndicated relationship with past Commissioners and pledged their maximum support, assuring that they will ensure effective implementation of all her contributions and recommendations for the enhancement of the Ministry.
