Peter Obi can only win presidency on social media – Pastor Giwa

A Nigerian cleric, Pastor Adewale Giwa, has said that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, does not have the capacity to win the presidential election.

The cleric has said that Obi has great number of followers on social media platforms, and therefore has tendency of winning the presidency on social media.

The Informant247 had reported that Obi who was one of the leading presidential aspirants under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, recently decamped from his former party to a new party, Labour Party, LP.

The pastor said that the politics of the country is monetized, and Obi may not have the financial ability to bankroll his presidential ambition.

While making comments on Friday, the Nigerian cleric said Obi is not different from a dreamer, whom many factors would work against at the polls.

“Peter Obi cannot do anything, he does not have the capacity, energy and strength. He is also not financially buoyant.

“In Nigeria, if you don’t have money, you cannot become the president. Even if you have popularity without money, you can’t become the president. Everything about Nigerian politics is money.

“Nigeria is not like America where politics is not monetised.

“The primary election where he was picked is the final destination for Peter Obi. He is the president of social media and elections are not won on social media. So media users will always vote for him on that platform. He is dreaming.

“Even the region where he is from is already widely divided politically. How will Obi be able to win.”
