Passengers safely disembarked as Air Peace plane veers off runway

An Air Peace aircraft experienced a runway excursion at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State, on Sunday following a safe landing.

The airline’s spokesman, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, confirmed the incident, reassuring that all passengers disembarked without injuries.

“Air Peace confirms that its Flight P47190, operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt this morning, had a runway excursion after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport,” Efe stated.

He added, “The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage. All passengers disembarked safely and calmly, and no injuries were reported.”

The airline reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards in its operations.

As of the time of this report, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had not issued a comment regarding the incident.

This incident occurs after a similar event at the same airport in 2019. Earlier this year, in May, an Air Peace flight was grounded at the Asaba International Airport in Delta State due to a collision with an antelope, disrupting flight schedules.
