Following Saturday’s attack on Ibarapa community in Oyo State, hundreds of parents stormed some schools in Ayete, Igangan and Tapa in Ibarapa North Local Government Area to withdraw their children due to fear of possible attacks on schools in the communities.
Recalls that yet to be identified gunmen had on Saturday night invaded Iganga town, Ibarapa North local government area of Oyo State. The State Police Command confirmed the death of no fewer than eleven (11) people during the attack.
According to DAILY POST, the Igangan community on Monday received news of another attack on the residents by unknown gunmen after their children had arrived at their schools.
The community monarch, the Elenpe of Tapa, Oba Oyekanmi Sunday Titiloye confirmed the withdrawal of the pupils by the parents.
The monarch said people have been running helter-skelter to ensure they take their children from schools.
“We couldn’t sleep till this morning. We just heard that those Fulani people are strategizing to attack us again but they didn’t tell us the precise time. No presence of security agencies here. We need government now,” he expressed.
