The governorship candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Teslim Folarin has felicitated the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde on his re-election in the March 18 governorship election.
In a statement personally signed by Folarin on Monday, March 20, he commended the leaders of his party and electorate for supporting him during the elections.
The statement reads, “In line with the official pronouncement of the Independent National Electoral Commission, I hereby congratulate Seyi Makinde.
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Oyo State electorate for their support for all APC candidates on the February 25th and March 18th elections respectively. May God bless you all.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has announced the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, the winner of the Saturday March 18 governorship electio in the state.
The state Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, Prof. Adebayo Banire made the declaration of the Governor as winner of the election.
According to the electoral body, the Governor got 568,756 votes to defeat 15 other candidates.
Makinde secured victory in 17 out of the 18 local governments in the state.
The Governor, who is recontesting for the governorship position on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is at a political battle against a 3-term Senator, Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Chief Adebayo Adelabu of Accord Party, AP is also in governorship race.
